Timelines and Distribution Graphs

The timeline and distribution graphs allow you to view how students in your class have performed over time and in particular assignment categories and/or on individual assignments.

 

View Timeline

If you would like to view your student’s progress over time, you can view the Timeline.

  1. Select Classes on the top blue bar.

  2. Click on the name of the class for which you would like to view the timeline.

  3. Hover over the Options button and select Timeline from the drop-down menu.

  4. On the Timeline page, you will be able to view assignments and grades in chronological order, with a color corresponding to each score.

    - Green = 80% - 100%
    - Yellow = 70% - 80%
    - Red = 60% - 70%
    - Black = Below 60%

  5. This view allows you to see how students are performing across time. Click the << and >> buttons at the top of the timeline to scroll through your assignments.

  6. If you have created assignment categories, you can select an assignment category from the drop-down menu in the top right to view only assignments in that selected category.

 

View Distribution

If you would like to view how many students performed within your class’s specified grading scale, you can view the Distribution.

  1. Select Classes on the top blue bar.

  2. Click on the name of the class for which you would like to view the distribution.

  3. Hover over the Options button and select Distribution from the drop-down menu.

  4. On the Distribution page, you can view your class’s overall average distribution, which will show you how many students fall into each range of percentages in your grading scale. The “Grade” column displays the percentage ranges set as your grading scale on your Grading Settings page, the “Graph” column shows a bar graph of how many students fall into each percentage range and the “#” column lists the number of students in each range.

  5. Click the drop-down menu in the top left to select an assignment category or individual assignment to view the distribution of grades within the selected category or an individual assignment.
